Ten films from 2007 that I’d watch again.
Zodiac
Already watched this one twice and am awaiting David Finchers Director’s cut with bonus materials. The film just triggers a natural curiosity to learn as much as you can about the Zodiac killer, or on just how to make sweet scary outfits.
The Mist
When you watch the Mist there is a realization that if the end of the world came, that this would be pretty much how humanity would react to it. It’s the ultimate “People Suck!” movie. If you want to feel depressed and shitty on xmas day, check this one out.
No Country for Old Men
Like you need to hear another person say, “this was so good, it gave me such a huge movie boner.” Just go see it already.
Grindhouse
The full experience which has been wrecked on DVD thanks to a company that’s freaking out and trying to make back the money they lost on it. If you saw it in the theater, try and hold on to that memory of it until a proper DVD release comes our way, if ever? This was probably the most fun I’ve had at a movie in a long while. Three viewings at the theater with various friends in tow, what more could I do to support it?
3:10 to Yuma
Thank Christ! The western is back! I’ve kicked myself for not seeing Open Range on the big screen. Bale (don’t think he’s capable of making bad movies) and Crowe are perfect in this. You may question how it ends but it’s executed so well that it makes you buy it.
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
A lot of people bitched and moaned “it’s to long and boring”, Not everything is explosions and gun fights in the old west people. To me it was film that could have kept going past the end. The characters were interesting and wow, Jesse James was a loon. Who knew you could have sympathy for a coward like Robert Ford?
Gone Baby Gone
If you’re trying to find a way to break up with your significant other, try solving a missing child’s case together. The moral paradox it creates between the two of you should do the trick. Oh and it’s just a good old crime story to boot.
Lars and the Real Girl
For those looking for a full on comedy, this isn’t it (that’s the next one on the list). Sure it’s got some laughs but a guy that gets a real doll and try’s to pass it off as a real girlfriend in front of a whole town…..well, he’s got some issues. It walks the line of not being to dramatic or to sappy and has just enough quirky stuff that makes it work.
Superbad
This is how kids in school act. If you are seeking a better understanding of teenagers, see this. You’ll laugh and think to yourself “I forgot how dumb I was back then.” News flash, your still dumb just older.
Waitress
Keri Russell is funny and makes weird pies. Captain Reynolds comes back from space to help vaginas . Also Matlock may be the funniest person in this movie.
